Privacy Policy

Sky Dose (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) respects your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: When you register (email/password or sign in with Apple/Google), we store email, display name if provided, and account identifiers necessary to operate your account.
Location data: With your permission, we use your device location to provide UV index and sun exposure recommendations for your area. Location is processed to serve the service and may be stored in association with your account (e.g. for recommendations and history).
Health data (Apple Health): If you grant access, we may read and/or write health data (e.g. time in daylight, vitamin D–related data, supplement intake) to provide features and sync with Apple Health. This data is used only as described and in accordance with your permissions.
Usage and app data: Data you enter in the App (sun sessions, goals, pills, marked dates, etc.) is stored to provide the service and sync across your devices. We may collect basic usage information (e.g. errors, app version) to improve the App.
Device and identifiers: We may use device type, OS version, and app identifiers for operation and support (e.g. push notifications, API authentication).

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data above to: provide and personalize the App (e.g. UV and recommendations); sync your data with our backend and, where you choose, Apple Health; maintain and secure your account; improve the App and fix issues; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Basis (EEA/UK)

Where required by law (e.g. in the EEA/UK), we process your data based on: performance of our contract with you (providing the App); your consent (e.g. location, Health); and our legitimate interests (security, improvement, support), where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

4. Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as needed to operate the service:

Backend and infrastructure: Account and app data are processed by our backend (e.g. hosted at skydose.backend.besserly.com) and associated hosting/database providers.
Sign-in providers: If you use “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google,” those providers process your sign-in in accordance with their privacy policies.
Apple Health: Health data you choose to share is subject to Apple’s privacy and HealthKit policies.
Weather/UV: To provide UV and weather-related features we may use third-party weather/UV services; location or derived data may be sent to these services only as necessary to serve your requests.

We use standard hosting and infrastructure providers to operate the service. A list of subprocessors is available on request.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and app data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion of your data (via the in-app “Delete your account” option), we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or safety reasons.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures (e.g. encryption in transit, secure authentication) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access your data; correct or update it; request deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; data portability; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise many of these by using in-app account/settings or by contacting us. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age where required). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (for example, where our backend or service providers operate). If you have questions about where your data is processed, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. We encourage you to review the policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes we may provide additional notice (e.g. in-app or by email).
